POSITION OVERVIEW:
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Construction Project Engineer to enhance their rapidly expanding Special Projects Division. This role is based in California and requires a professional with a background in managing diverse special projects, including commercial interiors, renovations, corporate offices, and more. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will report to senior leadership within the Special Projects Division, gaining valuable insights and mentorship from experienced executives. Responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, architects, and subcontractors.
- Overseeing the pre-planning and conceptual phases of projects.
- Developing and managing project schedules.
- Communicating timelines effectively to subcontractors and vendors.
- Assisting in budget management to achieve financial objectives.
- Ensuring accurate plans and specifications are provided to subcontractors.
- Coordinating as-builts, submittals, and manuals with the project superintendent.
- Maintaining precise accounting records and timely reporting to the finance department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Construction Project Engineer with a full-service commercial general contractor.
- Experience in managing projects such as commercial interiors, renovations, or other special projects.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
