Eligibility Criteria: You must be a new employee to the State to qualify for this program.

The Division of Health & Social Services is dedicated to enhancing the number of applicants for clinical nursing roles by providing a recruitment incentive to qualified candidates in various nursing classifications as per the Recruitment and Referral Incentive Program.

Incentive Structure:

· Recruitment incentives will be disbursed in quarterly payments over the initial year of employment, commencing after the first quarter. New hires accepting this recruitment bonus must commit to two consecutive years of service with the Division. Eligibility is restricted to new employees.

· Referral bonuses of $1,000 are available to current employees who successfully refer new hires to the state in the following roles: Advanced Practice Nurse, Nurse Consultant, Nursing Supervisor, Compliance Nurse, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Certified Nursing Assistant. Referral bonuses will also be paid in quarterly installments over the first year of the referred applicant's employment.

Note: This program is managed by the Division of Health & Social Services and may be discontinued by the State at any time.

Position Summary

The individual in this role will deliver nursing services, which include, but are not limited to: direct patient care, assessments, nursing care plans, and coordination of healthcare services for residents. The incumbent will oversee and assess the care provided by certified nursing assistants. Regular interaction with residents, families, nursing staff, physicians, dietary, pharmacy, administration, and other ancillary departments is essential.

  • Deliver or assess direct nursing care.
  • Develop, implement, and/or review nursing care plans.
  • Provide health care education and guidance to individuals, families, community groups, and/or nursing facilities regarding their health care needs.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with other members of the treatment team.
  • Prepare and submit records, reports, evaluations, and forms.
  • Engage in quality assurance activities and make recommendations.

Qualifications

Requirements for Registered Nurse I:
Applicants must demonstrate competence in the following areas:

  1. Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license, Delaware temporary license, or multi-state compact license.


Requirements for Registered Nurse II:
Applicants must demonstrate competence in the following areas:

  1. Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing OR at least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  2. Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license OR multi-state compact license.

Requirements for Registered Nurse III:
Applicants must demonstrate competence in the following areas:

  1. At least two years of experience as a Registered Nurse OR a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing and at least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse OR a Master's degree or higher in Nursing.
  2. Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license OR multi-state compact license.
