Position Overview:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist is accountable for providing nursing care in accordance with established protocols and professional nursing standards, taking responsibility for the results of the care delivered.

Requirements:
  • Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is preferred. Degrees should be obtained from institutions accredited by the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is mandatory.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a critical care environment is beneficial.
  • Licensure and Certification: A current and valid RN Licensure with the South Carolina Board of Nursing is required. Completion of the American Heart Association Healthcare provider course, including Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, is essential within 30 calendar days of hire. ACLS certification is preferred. BLS recertification is required every two years.
  • Special Skills: Proficiency in collaborating with patients, families, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Physical Demands: The position necessitates moderate physical exertion, including activities such as standing, sitting, walking, and communicating. The role may involve lifting items weighing between 20 to 35 pounds occasionally or 10 to 15 pounds frequently. There may be exposure to infectious materials and soiled linens, but risks can be mitigated through appropriate safety protocols.
