About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Oncology Nurse Infusion Specialist to join our team at American Oncology Network, Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Safely and accurately administer chemotherapeutic agents to patients as ordered by physicians, adhering to ONS standards and guidelines.
  • Waste Management: Ensure accurate and safe disposal of biohazardous waste, following OSHA and HRS guidelines.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in OncoEMR of treatment rendered to patients, ensuring appropriate charges are captured.
  • Education and Training: Act as moderator/instructor for chemotherapy classes, educating patients and families about medications, side effects, and treatment plans.
  • Communication: Respond to incoming calls and messages from patients, families, hospitals, and healthcare facilities in a timely and professional manner.
  • Supply Management: Assist with inventory and re-stocking medical supplies, recommending purchases as needed.
  • Nucleus Management: Have working knowledge of dispensing medications via Nucleus, performing cycle counts, and restocking medications within the required timeframe.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance: Maintain the confidentiality of patient and employee information at all times, adhering to federal and state laws, and company policies.
  • Training and Development: Assist in training new employees on related job duties.
Requirements
  • Education: Registered Nurse, licensed in the State of employment, with experience in IV therapy.
  • Experience: Experience working with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting.
  • Certifications: Current CPR & BLS certifications.
  • Language: Fluency in the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Travel: Valid Driver's license for travel to clinics.
