Key Qualifications:

  • 3-7 years of experience in geotechnical aspects of transportation, specifically in roadway bridge design.
  • Proficient in geotechnical design methodologies.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent accredited engineering discipline.
  • Competence in utilizing geotechnical software tools such as LPile, APile, Shaft, and slope stability analysis.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification with the potential to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with MicroStation design software.
  • Current licensure as a Professional Engineer.

Core Responsibilities:

The Senior Staff Engineer will deliver engineering and consulting expertise for a diverse range of transportation projects across various environments. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting and leading geotechnical and pavement-focused field assessments.
  • Performing engineering analyses, calculations, and developing design recommendations.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports detailing the services rendered.
  • Monitoring project timelines and budgets, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Identifying and resolving design and construction challenges, providing effective solutions.
  • Communicating complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Essential Duties:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines for all projects.
  • Ensure quality assurance on all engineering tasks.
  • Manage and execute projects of varying complexity.
  • Develop scopes of work for routine engineering assignments.
  • Prepare cost estimates and project specifications.
  • Analyze engineering data and perform necessary calculations.
  • Coordinate field investigations and laboratory testing, interpreting data to form recommendations.
  • Collaborate with senior project managers to enhance project management skills.
  • Provide design recommendations and modifications as necessary.
  • Prepare proposals and reports for senior review.
  • Mentor junior engineering staff and supervise field teams.
  • Engage with clients to define service scopes and report on project progress.

All work will be conducted under the guidance of an Authorized Project Reviewer.
