Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate the performance engineering team along with external stakeholders, including product managers, developers, database administrators, and network specialists.
  • Support project estimation processes and resource allocation.
  • Facilitate collaboration among teams across various locations to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Engage with product and development teams to establish and uphold non-functional requirements within testing frameworks.
  • Provide comprehensive performance assessments, reports, and presentations to stakeholders, including business and development teams.
  • Analyze the correlation between non-functional requirements and critical performance indicators.
  • Coordinate the resolution of infrastructure and application-related issues.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analyses of performance challenges and bottlenecks.
  • Manage defect tracking and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate closely with application development and technical teams to ensure prompt and professional handling of defects.
  • Develop and sustain statistical models reflecting key performance metrics.
  • Create and maintain analytical models for applications and systems.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for further research and analysis.
  • Lead and engage in knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Mitigate risks by adhering to established protocols and monitoring controls, identifying critical errors, and demonstrating strong ethical standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 6 years of expertise in performance engineering, encompassing analysis, testing, and optimization.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in developing n-tier, J2EE software applications.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Unix or Linux environments.
  • Proficient in performance analysis across distributed platforms, including Linux, Windows, AWS, Containers, and VMware, utilizing tools such as TeamQuest, OMi, CloudWatch, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, and DataDog.
  • Extensive knowledge of the functionality and performance characteristics of the aforementioned computing platforms.
  • Experience in advanced statistical and analytical modeling.
Essential Analytical Skills
  • Data exploration, analysis, and presentation using descriptive statistics and graphical techniques.
  • Time series analysis and forecasting.
  • Modeling relationships between key performance and volume metrics.
  • Understanding of queuing network modeling and simulation concepts, with experience in industry-standard analytic modeling tools such as TeamQuest, Metron-Athenee, HyPerformix, and BMC.
  • Expertise in load testing tools, including JMeter and LoadRunner.
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Perl, Unix shell, Python, Terraform, Chef, and Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with JMS/IBM-MQ messaging systems.
  • Understanding of RESTful web services, JSON, and XML.
  • Experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle and MSSQL.
  • Familiarity with AWS services, including Kinesis, Elastic Beanstalk, CloudWatch, and Lambda.
  • Experience with Azure services, such as Virtual Machines, Service Bus, and Kubernetes Services.
  • Knowledge of MongoDB.
  • Experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines, including testing with tools like Jenkins.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly in Excel for statistical functions and PowerPoint for presentations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working within Agile teams, preferably in a Scrum environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience in the financial services sector.
