Data Model Analyst for UW Medicine

Job Summary

The University of Washington, a leading institution in healthcare and education, is seeking a highly skilled Data Model Analyst to join its team. As a key member of the UW Medicine Foundation, this individual will play a critical role in managing and maintaining the Workday Foundation Data Model (FDM) for the clinical enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of the Workday FDM, ensuring accurate classification and system process flow for financial transactions.
  • Monitor and respond to requests for FDM updates from across UW Medicine, partnering with stakeholders to ensure updates are properly evaluated, approved, defined, tested, implemented, communicated, and documented.
  • Maintain the UW Medicine Consolidated Close Calendar functionality within Workday, ensuring scheduled dates and timelines are correct and resolving any transaction or processing errors that may interfere with efficient subsystems' closing.
  • Provide timely and accurate communication around closing schedules and status to various stakeholders.
  • Participate in and support the accounting department's efforts related to business process design and improvement, as well as technology streamlining and increased efficiencies for end users.
  • Prepare and present written and verbal reports to management and staff as requested.
  • Serve as a UW Medicine Finance representative on committees, task forces, and other initiatives where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Four years' experience in accounting operations, including financial reporting and month-end close.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to run a process involving multiple stakeholders across a wide range of disciplines, ensuring adherence to policies around approvals, testing, documentation, and communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to delve into new subject areas and quickly understand the fundamentals.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, technical documentation skills, user liaison skills, and personal interaction abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability, accuracy, and productivity, navigating any reporting data domain or subject area.
  • Experience with enterprise financial systems such as Workday, Oracle, or other.
