The UNM Medical Group, Inc. is seeking a Project Audit Coordinator to support our Accounts Receivable & Denials department. This is a full-time position with a day shift schedule. Candidates must have a permanent address in New Mexico or be willing to relocate.

Salary Range: Minimum $49,025 - Midpoint $61,276*

*Compensation is based on total relevant experience.

Position Summary:

The Project Audit Coordinator will oversee ongoing project initiatives related to daily operations and special assignments that assist leadership in analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating data to effectively manage accounts receivable and denials within the AR and Denials Division. This role will serve as a liaison with external vendors, ensuring continuous communication.

Essential Qualifications for a Project Audit Coordinator:

A high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience directly related to the responsibilities outlined. A completed degree from an accredited institution that exceeds the minimum educational requirement may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis. Verification of education and licensure will be required upon selection.

Key Responsibilities of a Project Audit Coordinator:

  1. Manage monthly dashboards and reconciliations for all external vendors.
  2. Ensure completion of weekly staff account audits; document findings and maintain an audit log.
  3. Prepare and maintain necessary records, files, and reports, including payer issue logs.
  4. Analyze and interpret operational denial reports and monthly accounts receivable reports, identifying trends and issues.
  5. Collaborate closely with department leadership to facilitate prompt identification and resolution of issues.
  6. Provide weekly status updates to the Director regarding project progress, including successes and challenges.
  7. Offer insights for the development and implementation of mechanisms and controls to enhance AR and denials follow-up based on project work.
  8. Handle patient escalations and ensure resolution to completion.
  9. May deliver system and process training to both internal and external stakeholders.
