Qualifications:

Education & Experience: A High School Diploma or GED, supplemented by coursework in information technology or a related discipline, along with three years of experience in end-user support within a corporate environment. This includes skills in troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation of desktop and laptop systems, as well as network systems. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

General Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, the technician will provide a range of field-level IT support aimed at resolving software and hardware issues related to desktop computers, peripherals, and networked systems for various offices and remote locations. Responsibilities include:

  • Offering on-site and remote consulting, coordination, and troubleshooting for end-users.
  • Collaborating with relevant departments and external agencies on assigned tasks.
  • Leading special projects and managing complex troubleshooting cases.
  • Providing additional support to the department as needed.

Key Duties:

  • Delivering Desktop Services support in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation, including knowledge articles and process workflows.
  • Managing and resolving tickets in the Desktop Service queue using Service-Now.
  • Ensuring quality in Desktop Field services through effective ticket management and project coordination.
  • Performing troubleshooting for software and hardware issues for both office and remote site locations.
  • Reviewing hardware and software needs for remote staff and coordinating timely setups.
  • Participating in professional meetings and staying updated on new technologies.
  • Providing telecommunications support, including managing VOIP user setups.
  • Evaluating technology requests and recommending necessary equipment or software.
  • Analyzing ticket trends and suggesting improvements.
  • Assisting with application and hardware implementations to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Coordinating user equipment moves as scheduled.
  • Integrating sustainability into daily operations.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Customer service principles and practices.
  • Operations and activities of a service desk and desktop support.
  • Advanced troubleshooting techniques for PC and MAC systems.
  • Understanding of network protocols and VPN configurations.
  • Familiarity with IT asset management fundamentals.
