Job Details

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support our commercial general contracting business in Smyrna, GA. This role is responsible for overseeing key human resources functions, including employee relations, recruitment, compliance, benefits administration, and HR-related programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Employee Relations:
    • Serve as point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures, and workplace concerns.
    • Mediate and resolve employee conflicts to maintain a healthy work environment.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
    • Manage full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding for both office and field positions.
    • Partner with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
    • Ensure a smooth onboarding process to support new hire integration.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including OSHA and EEO guidelines.
    • Prepare and submit required HR reports and documentation, such as EEO-1 and ACA reporting.
    • Oversee I-9 documentation and ensure adherence to record-keeping protocols.
  • Benefits Administration:
    • Administer company benefit programs, including health insurance, 401(k), and wellness initiatives.
    • Educate employees on benefit offerings and facilitate open enrollment sessions.
  • HR Programs and Policies:
    • Develop, update, and implement HR policies and procedures to support organizational goals.
    • Assist with performance management processes, including reviews and improvement plans.
    • Promote employee engagement through initiatives such as recognition programs, training, and team-building activities.
  • Payroll Support:
    • Partner with the accounting team to ensure accurate payroll processing.
    • Manage time tracking and address payroll discrepancies.
  • Safety and Risk Management:
    • Collaborate with safety officers to ensure workplace safety standards are met.
    • Support workers' compensation claims and follow up on incident reporting.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of HR experience, preferably in the construction or general contracting industry.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience.
