Medicaid Services Coordinator

CommuniCare Health Services is seeking a motivated individual with a background in Business Office or Admissions within Long Term Care for the role of Medicaid Services Coordinator.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Medicaid Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating the financial assistance processes available to residents in our Caring Communities.
Estimated Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000 annually
This position allows for remote work, with occasional travel required within designated regions. Travel may include visits to residents' homes for documentation collection, financial institutions, and local agencies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist facilities in collecting financial information from residents, families, and responsible parties.
- Evaluate verifications to confirm eligibility for benefits.
- Prepare and submit applications to state Medicaid programs.
- Act as the authorized representative for benefits applications when necessary.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation to support all applications.
- Timely escalate complex cases to management.
- File appeals with relevant agencies when required.
- Develop collaborative relationships with local agencies that manage Level of Care assessments and Medicaid eligibility.
- Participate in all Medicaid Pending Meetings for assigned facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to long-term care reimbursement.
- 3-5 years of experience in Long Term Care Business Office or Social Services, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- In-depth understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance, and managed care programs.
- Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
- Effective interpersonal skills to interact with team members, staff, residents, families, visitors, and government agencies.
- Willingness to explore and integrate new methods and principles into existing practices.
- Prior management training is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with relevant software applications.
