Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Radiographer to join our team at Caton Hill Medical Center in Virginia. As a Medical Radiographer, you will play a critical role in performing diagnostic and therapeutic interventional radiology procedures on patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with pre and post-patient assessment, patient teaching, and patient care within the scope of practice.
  • Perform routine and highly specialized diagnostic and therapeutic interventional radiology procedures following established parameters and protocols.
  • Use proper radiation safety measures to conform to the ALARA principle and departmental Radiation Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Prepare work schedules to ensure sufficient staff is available for patient appointments.
  • Assure that staff explains Interventional Radiology procedures to patients and obtains consent forms.
  • Provide training and guidance to ensure equipment is properly and safely operated.
  • Assist staff in confirming that images meet radiologist requirements.
  • Check the status of imaging and specialty equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
  • Troubleshoot technical and mechanical problems and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
  • Order equipment, film, and supplies and manage inventories properly.
  • Perform QC Lead duties as an Interventional Radiology Technologist as required.
  • Maintain proper documentation for internal and external regulatory compliance.
Requirements
  • Minimum three years of recent experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital supporting fluoroscopy and c-arm/surgical procedures.
  • Graduate of a certified/accredited ARRT program required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Cardiac Interventional Radiography, Vascular Interventional Radiography, or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography within 24 months of hire.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of radiology principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation protection and physics, and radiographic positioning.
  • Ability to operate all radiology equipment, including radiographic machines, radiographic/fluoroscopic machines, Interventional Radiology associated equipment, associated surgical equipment, and image processors.
  • Proficiency in the use of applicable computer software.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a 25% travel requirement. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment and possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
