Function

The Family Services Supervisor plays a pivotal role in shaping and overseeing a variety of social service initiatives aimed at enhancing the welfare of children and families. This position involves the supervision of Family Services Specialists and Principal Family Services Specialists, ensuring that all service providers have the necessary resources and support.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of social service professionals, coordinating tasks and evaluating performance to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with local and state regulations while striving to meet organizational goals. Address complex cases that require careful consideration and intervention.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for staff, identifying training needs and facilitating skill enhancement.
  • Participate in personnel decisions, including hiring, evaluations, and disciplinary actions, while fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Stay informed about relevant laws and policies, providing guidance to staff and stakeholders on compliance and best practices.
  • Engage with community partners to develop resources and enhance service offerings, representing the agency in various forums.
  • Maintain accurate records and data systems, analyzing program outcomes to inform decision-making and policy development.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the mission of the department.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least five years of experience in social service delivery, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of social work principles and practices, along with strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record as per organizational standards.
  • Successful completion of a background check prior to employment.
  • This role is classified as safety-sensitive and is subject to drug testing in accordance with the organization's policies.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed under general supervision, with the possibility of on-call responsibilities for emergency situations.
  • Flexibility in working hours may be required, including evenings and weekends, along with local travel.
