Position Summary:
The Chemical Processing Operator is responsible for utilizing various technologies to assess and enhance manufacturing machinery and equipment. This role involves operating chemical packaging and processing equipment, including the production of Cyanoacrylate adhesives, photopolymer resins, and other chemical blends. The successful candidate will begin at an entry-level position and can advance based on their skill set and ability to perform various tasks associated with the chemical operator role.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Adhering to safety protocols on Chemence premises, including compliance with FDA, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
- Acquiring safety information regarding different chemicals.
- Managing daily laboratory manufacturing tasks, which encompass setup, in-process monitoring, and post-process handling of all reaction intermediates and products, while following prescribed routers and instructions.
- Ensuring compliance with cGMP, GLP, and FDA standards, including accurate documentation and verification of all recorded information.
- Proposing enhancements to routers, work practices, and operational areas.
- Maintaining equipment and glassware in a ready-to-use condition promptly.
- Reporting shortages in chemical and supply inventory in a timely manner.
- Handling, transferring, and confirming all inventory items accurately.
- Properly managing all waste materials, understanding the distinctions between various waste types, storage locations, and personal protection requirements, and instructing other departments on safety and handling when necessary.
- Ensuring the safe handling of all chemicals present on Chemence property.
- Participating in special projects as assigned.
- Demonstrating self-motivation in the continuous improvement of the work environment and personal performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing or production.
- Basic mathematical skills with the capacity to learn intermediate-level math.
Language Proficiency:
- English is required; bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires walking and standing for extended periods, with occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds is necessary.
