Position Title: Senior Enrollment Advisor

Organization: University of Houston Victoria

Overview:

The Senior Enrollment Advisor plays a crucial role in attracting students to the university and providing guidance to prospective students and their families throughout the admissions journey. This position is responsible for spearheading recruitment initiatives within a specified region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively represents the university and its offerings to the community, enhancing public awareness through various recruitment activities, including visits to high schools and community colleges, participation in college fairs, and hosting information sessions.
  • Collaborates in formulating strategies to enhance and broaden prospective student recruitment via lead generation, guidance for prospects, and support during the matriculation process. Conducts research on prospective student backgrounds, diligently follows up on leads, and maintains comprehensive records for the assigned recruitment area.
  • Identifies significant opportunities within the target region and fosters relationships with school counselors, community organizations, local businesses, and alumni to create a supportive network.
  • Provides counseling to prospective undergraduate and graduate students and their families on academic programs, extracurricular activities, admissions criteria, and application procedures.
  • Reviews admissions applications and assists in the evaluation process. Leads a small team or project aimed at developing strategic outreach initiatives, which may include visits, presentations, and various communication methods to assist in student recruitment and address any challenges faced by students and their families.
  • Guides prospective students in assessing their completed college credits, including dual credits, and identifies financial aid options through grants, scholarships, and loans, while educating them about student loan processes.
  • Oversees special projects designed to enhance student outreach efforts in the designated area, including partnerships, while formulating individual and team recruitment strategies to meet collective objectives.
  • Maintains an updated database of contacts within educational institutions to facilitate ongoing visits, meetings, and strategies that support students throughout the enrollment process.
  • Performs additional job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in student counseling, business administration, education, or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
