We seek individuals with robust experience in designing and implementing advanced models, particularly in the realms of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computer Vision (CV).

This role involves collaboration with a team of distinguished research scientists and machine learning engineers who are proactive in designing and deploying sophisticated machine learning solutions directly onto TikTok's global platform.


Responsibilities - What You Will Do

  • Oversee a specific submodule within the moderation system or a dedicated research area, including but not limited to Large Language Models (LLM) and their applications in safety and moderation system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with team members to conceptualize next-generation moderation systems utilizing innovative technologies.
  • Develop Neural Network models and LLM-based solutions to address TikTok's online safety challenges.
  • Partner with engineering teams to implement model pipelines and ensure scalable service deployment.
  • Work alongside the product team to define objectives and refine trust and safety strategies.
  • Collaborate with data analysts to identify and interpret data patterns.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in one or more of the following fields: machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, or content understanding.
  • A BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Proficient in training deep learning models (CV/NLP/NN), along with serving and optimizing these models.
  • Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Practical experience in areas such as machine learning (CV/NLP/Multimodal), active learning, Large Language Models, and Recommendation Systems.
  • Strong programming skills, particularly in Python and similar languages.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a passion for learning new techniques and tackling challenging problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large-scale online machine learning platforms is advantageous.
  • Background in active learning, reinforcement learning, and LLM is a plus.
  • Familiarity with trust and safety domains is beneficial.
