We are seeking an experienced Biophysicist to join our team at Treeline Biosciences, a leading biotechnology company dedicated to developing innovative medicines against challenging targets in cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting our drug discovery programs by collaborating with our multi-disciplinary Lead Discovery organization, applying biophysical techniques to characterize protein-small molecule and protein-protein interactions.
Key Responsibilities- Biophysical Assay Development: Design, propose, and implement new biophysical assays to characterize protein-small molecule and protein-protein interactions.
- Biophysical Method Expertise: Utilize a suite of biophysical techniques, including SPR, DSF, MS, DLS, and MST, to advance drug discovery.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze, interpret, and communicate biophysical data as a subject matter expert and biophysics representative on project teams.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional project teams, provide biophysics leadership, and propose new approaches and technologies.
- Education: PhD in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or related discipline with 2-3 years of relevant postdoctoral training.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in biotech/pharma industry with a track record of hit-finding, hit-to-lead, and lead optimization to delivering small molecule development candidates.
- Biophysical Method Expertise: Strong knowledge of biophysical methods and theory with proven hands-on expertise applying biophysics for interaction analysis.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on multidisciplinary teams.
- Leadership Experience: Ability to lead in a matrix environment, act as point of contact on behalf of Lead Discovery within the broader project team.
- Biophysics Expertise: Experience with fragment-based lead discovery, covalent lead discovery, and DEL.
- Biological Systems Expertise: Strong hands-on biochemistry experience or expertise in enzymology.
