ROLE SUMMARY


The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will execute essential repairs to equipment and fixtures on a priority basis for all designated restaurants within the assigned markets.

Facilities technicians collaborate closely with Maintenance technicians to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and in optimal working condition.

As part of the Nando's family, the Facilities Maintenance Specialist may be expected to take on various roles, actively seek opportunities to enhance Nando's and their own skills daily, and generally be a supportive team player. The key responsibilities of this position are outlined below:

KEY FOCUS AREAS
In addition to adhering to Nando's policies and procedures, primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Prioritizing service requests based on urgency and feasibility as the technician moves through the service area.

The technician will collaborate with the Facilities Manager to determine the best course of action for the Operations Team, assisting with responsibilities related to cooking equipment, refrigeration, minor electrical work, plumbing, and ensuring guest and employee comfort and safety.

Works with the Facilities Manager to effectively prioritize tasks and assist with daily scheduling.

This will be achieved using the Eco-Trak tool to help organize and complete work orders.

This position is fundamentally reactive, requiring effective communication with Operations regarding status updates and task completions.

The candidate will utilize Eco-Trak to monitor daily work orders and manage their own calendar for scheduling, demonstrating flexibility when adjustments are necessary.

Implements procedures to follow in the event of facility malfunctions, critical equipment failures, or threats to the health and safety of employees or customers.

Identifies specific issues contributing to elevated maintenance and repair costs or capital reinvestment needs and communicates these concerns to the Regional Facilities Manager.

Acts as a liaison between restaurants and service partners when dispatched for equipment repairs; assists Area Managers in investigating, analyzing, and determining whether to escalate facilities issues to the Facilities Manager.

Helps communicate reinvestment opportunities for aging equipment and projects, as well as evaluating and grading equipment condition during each visit.
Manages inventory of parts and tools, identifying trends in inventory needs and managing accordingly.
Adheres to all Development department guidelines.

Depending on business and departmental needs, may undertake additional duties as assigned to advance specific projects or resolve business challenges.

Maintains critical parts stock to ensure prompt completion of equipment repairs.
Provides regular in-store training to managers on performing minor repairs and maintenance to help reduce maintenance and repair expenses.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training

Experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
HVAC/Refrigeration certification required
Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Work Experience


Three (3) to five (5) years of facility repair and maintenance experience with a focus on cooking equipment, HVAC, refrigeration, minor electrical, and plumbing.

Experience with CMMS platforms preferred, such as Eco-Trak, Servicechannel, Corrigo, etc.
Restaurant facility repair and maintenance experience preferred.

REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge/Skills

Ability to travel daily within designated markets and occasional out-of-market travel as required
Strong knowledge of minor electrical, minor plumbing, HVAC/refrigeration
Solid understanding of kitchen and cooking equipment
Knowledge of rules and regulations governing facilities safety requirements
Familiarity with fixtures, furnishings, and equipment, as well as service maintenance costs and procedures for various building systems
Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple schedules and plan work to achieve timely results.
Excellent organization and communication skills are essential.
Computer skills are a must.
