About the Role

The Department of Corrections Executive Leadership is seeking a skilled Facilities Repair Worker-Advanced to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and repair of our facilities, including preventive maintenance and minor repair of equipment and building components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facilities, including walls, flooring, ceilings, doors, windows, and furnishings
  • Supervise and train inmates in mechanical maintenance and repair work assignments
  • Operate grounds maintenance equipment, including snow plows, lawn mowers, and other equipment
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, often under unpleasant conditions, including dirty and dusty areas, extreme cold/heat, and small or confined spaces
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless facility operations

Requirements

  • Knowledge of building construction/repair concepts/techniques
  • Knowledge of mechanical repair and maintenance principles
  • Knowledge of janitorial and cleaning techniques
  • Knowledge of grounds keeping and landscaping methods and procedures
  • Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment
