Position: Product Assembler/Tester (A/T)

Key Responsibilities:
  • The A/T must be proficient in interpreting engineering specifications and schematics relevant to the assembly and testing processes.
  • Skilled operation of all assembly tools is essential, including torque and tension control during assembly. Familiarity with precision measuring instruments is also required.
  • Verification of component parts specific to the assembly unit is crucial, along with adherence to special instructions. Any discrepancies in the material picklist must be communicated to the Production Coordinator.
  • Conducting thorough inspections to ensure quality assembly is mandatory, including checks for body cracks, positioner calibration, and proper documentation.
  • Additional skills in areas such as drilling, milling, and manual lathe operation are advantageous.
  • Maintenance of assembly devices is the responsibility of the assembler or an authorized technician.
  • All tools utilized in assembly must be maintained and stored properly to ensure readiness for use.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to follow detailed assembly and testing instructions is essential.
  • Manual dexterity and the capacity to perform complex assembly tasks efficiently are critical.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing products within a manufacturing setting is highly valued.
  • Interpersonal skills to collaborate with engineering personnel and external suppliers are important.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Ability to read technical drawings is necessary.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical components or relevant education is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems and actuators is beneficial.
  • Strong verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Experience in machining is a plus.
  • Familiarity with crane and forklift operation is advantageous.
Work Environment:
  • Manufacturing shop environment.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
  • Exposure to cutting oils, lubricants, and sharp objects is expected.
