Position: Product Assembler/Tester (A/T)
Key Responsibilities:- The A/T is required to accurately interpret engineering specifications and schematics relevant to the assembly and testing processes.
- Proficiency in utilizing all assembly tools is essential, including torque and tension management during assembly. Familiarity with precision measuring instruments is also necessary.
- Verification of component parts against assembly unit specifications and adherence to special instructions is crucial. Any discrepancies in the material picklist must be communicated to the Production Coordinator.
- Conducting thorough inspections to ensure quality assembly is mandatory, which includes checking for body defects, calibration accuracy, and compliance with installation instructions.
- Additional skills in areas such as drilling, milling, and manual lathe operation are advantageous.
- Maintenance of assembly devices is the responsibility of the assembler or an authorized technician.
- All tools utilized in the assembly process must be kept in optimal condition and stored appropriately after use.
- Ability to follow detailed assembly and testing protocols.
- Manual dexterity and the capacity to perform complex assembly tasks efficiently are vital.
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing products within a manufacturing context is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with engineering teams and external suppliers are important.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical assembly or related fields.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and controls is beneficial.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Experience in machining is a plus.
- Familiarity with crane and forklift operations is advantageous.
- Manufacturing shop setting.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
- Exposure to cutting oils, lubricants, and sharp tools.
