Job Summary

The Indigo Road Hospitality Group is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team at O-Ku Sushi D.C. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Culinary Leadership: Develop and implement menus that showcase the freshest ingredients and innovative techniques, while ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes.
  • Team Management: Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for growth and development to your culinary team.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee kitchen operations, including inventory management, labor planning, and budgeting, to ensure efficient and profitable restaurant operations.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the General Manager and other department heads to achieve business objectives, drive revenue growth, and enhance the overall guest experience.
Requirements
  • Culinary Expertise: 5+ years of experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with a strong focus on employee development and retention.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including financial management, inventory control, and labor planning.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff, management, and guests.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work a varied schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
