About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Volunteer Coordinator to join our team at SouthernCare New Beacon Hospice. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for representing the volunteers and advocating for volunteer services, identifying needs for volunteers, recruiting volunteers, and assigning volunteers with patients/families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the volunteers and advocate for volunteer services
  • Identify needs for volunteers and develop strategies to meet those needs
  • Recruit and train volunteers to work with patients and families
  • Assign volunteers to work with patients and families
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and volunteer groups
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or four years related experience
  • Healthcare/hospice or volunteer administration experience preferred
  • Previous volunteer experience preferred
  • Ability to operate computer, facsimile equipment, copier, and cell phone
  • Ability to apply knowledge of the special needs of hospice patients and families
  • Sensitivity to the impact of life and death issues faced by individuals with terminal illness
  • CPR Certification
  • Current automobile insurance and valid driver's license
