At Blue Origin, we're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. As part of our Operations team, you'll play a critical role in the precision cleaning and inspection of aerospace hardware for various spaceflight systems.

This role is part of our Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security team, which includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. You'll work alongside a diverse team of specialists, technicians, and engineers to perform general duties involved in the precision cleaning and inspection of aerospace hardware.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and passivate hardware using solvent/chemical, mechanical, ultrasonic, and precision cleaning methods.
  • Safely handle hardware utilizing overhead cranes, hoists, and associated lifting equipment.
  • Analyze and correct CPV Lab solvent/chemical systems using titration and direct measurement methods.
  • Inspect hardware using visual, UV light, borescope, microscopic particle count, and high-precision weighing methods.
  • Package accepted hardware and supplies for storage or shipment.
  • Perform shop-level maintenance and calibration of equipment such as pumps, tanks, filtration systems, scales, etc.
  • Conduct general housekeeping of CPV Lab and Certified Clean Room area.

Requirements:

  • Experience working on fluid systems with applied chemistry fundamentals.
  • Strong attention to detail, desire to solve problems, and drive to resolve technical issues.
  • Ability to lift items to 40 lbs. and use lifting equipment and machinery for heavier hardware.
  • Must possess initiative, a strong work ethic, and a proven ability to follow directions and meet expectations.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to interface with software systems, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in precision cleaning of aerospace, medical, or other precision components.
  • Prior experience inspecting aerospace mechanical components or fluid systems.
