About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at Karman Space & Defense. As an Assembly Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the engineering, manufacturing, and production teams by performing a variety of tasks, including production assembly, engineering assembly, receiving support, packaging, and shipping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical assembly according to verbal and written instructions, including fastening, bonding, and riveting.
  • Support engineering testing and manufacturing efforts.
  • Read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Use chemicals, adhesives, and solvents as required.
  • Work with the ERP system to track hardware and ensure jobs are completed on time.
  • Assist with test setup and execution when needed.
  • Assist with packaging and shipping of hardware and equipment.
  • Observe safety and security procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions.
Requirements
  • High School diploma.
  • Experience with basic hand and power tools and a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • A strong desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Typically 2+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing environments.
  • An exceptional work ethic, attitude, and willingness to learn.
  • Physical requirements include moderate physical and repetitious work, standing for extended periods, using stairs, and occasional heavy lifting.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • U.S. citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with FOD.
  • Previous experience with ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements.
  • Experience working in a high-paced, challenging work environment with high attention to detail.
