Position Overview:

As a Member Services Representative, you will engage with members in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner while efficiently managing transactions related to the receipt and disbursement of funds, including cash and checks, ensuring accurate daily balancing. You will consult with members to identify and promote products and services that align with their financial needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome members promptly and professionally, providing essential information regarding services offered.
  • Accurately process member financial transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; issue negotiable instruments; and transfer funds between member accounts as instructed while maintaining comprehensive member records.
  • Educate members on credit union products and services that best suit their individual financial situations, maintaining a referral rate as outlined in the credit union's business strategy.
  • Ensure cash drawer and daily transactions are balanced to meet the required balancing ratio established by the credit union.
  • Carry out various administrative tasks, including but not limited to generating monthly reports and data entry.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Performance Indicators:

  1. Safeguard the confidentiality of member account information.
  2. Deliver courteous, professional, and personalized service to all members.
  3. Achieve accurate daily cash drawer balancing.
  4. Strive for posting accuracy, which will be reflected in employee performance evaluations.
  5. Effectively troubleshoot and resolve inquiries from members and internal staff in a timely and courteous manner.
  6. Complete all required annual training and comply with security protocols and regulatory guidelines.
  7. Possess knowledge of various accounts and services to assist members and refer them to appropriate staff when necessary.
  8. Engage in ongoing education through assigned training programs.

  • Exhibit courtesy, tact, and diplomacy in all interactions.
  • Engage in personal contact with others within and outside the organization, typically regarding routine matters that may require discussion.
  • Demonstrate strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills, along with proficiency in technology.

  2. Attention to detail when handling numbers and names.
  3. Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changes, and make decisions aligned with credit union policies while exercising good judgment when necessary.
  4. Capability to identify and act on sales opportunities.
  5. Demonstrate initiative and a commitment to ongoing education.
  6. Maintain composure in high-activity environments and work collaboratively as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
