Congressional Affairs Specialist

At rockITdata, we are seeking a highly skilled Congressional Affairs Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Congressional engagement strategy. This will involve analyzing and evaluating Congressional Affairs needs, advising leadership on key issues, and providing consultation to senior leaders on Congressional engagement strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a proactive Congressional stakeholder engagement strategy.
- Provide consultation to senior leaders on Congressional engagement strategies.
- Coordinate and plan briefings, hearings, meetings, and other external events involving Congressional members and representatives.
- Develop materials, including information papers, fact sheets, and PowerPoint briefings, to enhance understanding of the organization's projects and capabilities.
- Produce written documents for senior officials, including briefing materials, legislative summaries, and background papers.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to respond to information requests from external and internal stakeholders.
- Evaluate and provide guidance to overcome challenges encountered in communicating programs and strategy.
Requirements:
- Prior Congressional Affairs or Legislative Liaison experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters in Legislative Affairs or Public Policy.
