Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clinical managers to plan, design, and implement patient-specific and population-based programs of care.
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing practice to ensure consistency with national standards, evidence-based information, and nurse-sensitive outcomes.
  • Develop and implement quality plans, establish goals, and lead in the development of departmental initiatives.
  • Facilitate process improvement in patient care based on systematic assessment and evaluation of evidence-based practice.
  • Conduct ongoing quality audits, monitoring, and analysis to identify patterns and trends.
  • Disseminate and facilitate discussion of quality-related systems and processes with staff.
  • Review current professional literature, critically interpret, and select research findings relevant to patient safety and quality improvement.
  • Promote staff use of current evidence, utilize clinical expertise, and provide direction to staff in making practice changes.
  • Assist staff nurses in becoming familiar with the process for utilizing evidence-based research in practice.
  • Initiate evidence-based projects and research to investigate clinical issues and identify opportunities for clinical nursing research.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Nursing required (or within six months of completion) with relevant clinical experience.
  • CNS, CNL, or NP certification preferred.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island.
  • Minimum of three years relevant clinical experience with demonstrated leadership, teaching, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional level of written and oral communication skill.
  • Ability to conceptualize, develop, and effect quality nursing services with a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and mediation skills.
Working Conditions
