Position Overview

As a Financial Reporting Analyst, you will benefit from:

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Central Accounting and Reporting team in their functions.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the State's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
  • Engage with various agencies to gather necessary financial data.
  • Guide and support agencies in completing GAAP conversion packages.
  • Update and revise state agency conversion packages on an annual basis as required.
  • Review and analyze the State's accounting policies and procedures, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Act as a liaison with personnel from the State Auditor & Inspector agency.
  • Examine, investigate, and rectify discrepancies in financial entries, documents, and reports submitted by agencies to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct ad hoc projects, analyses, and reporting as assigned.

Work Environment

This role is primarily office-based, involving extensive use of a computer throughout the workday.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification or CPA candidate status.
  • Experience in governmental accounting and familiarity with the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for governments.
  • Experience with general ledger and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
