About the Chief Technology Officer Role
The Chief Technology Officer is responsible for spearheading the design and implementation of innovative technology systems and tools that align with Feminist's mission. This role involves close collaboration with the Chief Information Officer to evaluate and enhance Feminist's current technological frameworks.
Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Executive Director
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic insights to the executive team regarding technology architecture, focusing on sustainable growth and organizational scalability;
- Oversee the design and development of advanced technology systems and tools to enhance operational efficiency;
- Implement technological solutions and integrations that optimize workflows across the organization, including third-party API integrations;
- Conduct Research & Development initiatives to explore emerging technologies that can benefit the organization;
- Establish partnerships with technology vendors and industry leaders to foster innovation;
- Assess new technologies for compatibility with existing systems and processes;
- Ensure alignment of technology architecture with organizational goals;
- Manage the recruitment, development, and performance evaluation of technology staff;
- Provide hands-on support for ongoing technology projects;
- Oversee consultant and vendor relationships to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in technology architecture, design, and team leadership;
- In-depth knowledge of computer systems, networking, databases, and software development;
- Experience in managing technology procurement processes, including documentation and proposal reviews;
- Proficiency in programming languages and the ability to read and write code;
- Strong strategic planning and goal-setting skills with measurable outcomes;
- Experience in dynamic and complex work environments, both in-person and remote;
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative in problem-solving;
- Excellent research and analytical capabilities;
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail;
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality;
- Capability to estimate and evaluate technical solutions;
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
