Aircraft Maintenance Technician II

GENERAL OVERVIEW:
- The role involves executing maintenance tasks on UH-60A/L/M aircraft as assigned. A comprehensive understanding of mechanical troubleshooting and repair processes is essential, along with proficiency in aircraft structural modifications and repairs, and assessing the functionality of basic electrical systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct maintenance, repairs, and modifications on aircraft structures, components, and engines of varying complexity.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of aircraft systems, including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
- Apply technical expertise in diagnosing equipment malfunctions and restoring operational condition.
- Resolve intricate issues by interpreting technical documents such as blueprints and manufacturer manuals.
- Utilize specialized aircraft tools, including test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and sheet metal tools.
- Provide technical assistance to structural and mechanical engineers as well as clients.
- Employ strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks in alignment with aircraft delivery timelines.
- Document maintenance activities in aircraft logs and records.
- Offer guidance and technical support to junior technicians during maintenance and modification tasks.
- Perform additional duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Possession of an FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate is advantageous.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with H-60 aircraft is required.
- Completion of the UH-60 (15T) course is preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is expected.
- Familiarity with AR 95-20, DA PAM, AR, and relevant aircraft maintenance manuals is essential.
- Must possess personal tools and meet minimum tool list standards, adhering to FOD and tool control best practices.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
To successfully fulfill this role, an individual must be capable of performing each essential duty effectively. The following physical capabilities are necessary:
- Ability to walk and stand on various surfaces for extended periods.
- Capability to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, including working at heights with appropriate safety measures.
- Ability to crouch, crawl, grasp objects, and perform tasks requiring finger dexterity.
- May need to lift up to 50 pounds and carry items over short distances.
- Ability to read dials/gauges and identify small objects and tools.
- Must possess visual acuity to detect imperfections and read small scales.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to hear and distinguish sounds.
- Ability to perceive color differences and assess three-dimensional depth.
- May be required to operate various vehicles, machinery, and ground support equipment.
