Job Overview

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

  • The candidate will be responsible for conducting maintenance on UH-60A/L/M aircraft as designated. A solid understanding of mechanical troubleshooting and repair processes for aircraft components is essential, along with expertise in aircraft sheet metal and structural repairs, and the capability to assess the functionality of basic electrical systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and modifications on aircraft structures, components, and engines of varying complexity.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of aircraft systems including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to identify equipment malfunctions and restore operational efficiency.
  • Resolve intricate issues by analyzing technical documentation such as blueprints and manufacturer manuals.
  • Utilize specialized aircraft tools including test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and other relevant instruments.
  • Offer technical assistance to structural and mechanical engineers as well as clients.
  • Employ strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and adhere to aircraft delivery timelines.
  • Document maintenance activities in aircraft logs and records.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior technicians during aircraft modifications and maintenance tasks.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Possession of an FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with H-60 aircraft is required.
  • Completion of the UH-60 (15T) course is preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is necessary.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is expected.
  • Familiarity with AR 95-20, DA PAM, AR, and all related aircraft maintenance manuals is essential.
  • Must possess personal tools and meet minimum tool list standards, applying best practices for Foreign Object Damage (FOD) and tool control as per AR 95-20 and Flight and Ground Operating Procedures.

To successfully perform this role, the individual must be capable of fulfilling each essential duty effectively.   • Ability to walk and stand on flat and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods.
  • Capability to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work platforms, and work at heights with appropriate fall protection.
  • Ability to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, utilize finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees, and reach above/below shoulders.
  • May need to lift up to 50 pounds and carry items over short distances.
  • May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects, and handle hand tools.
  • Must be able to see small details, micrometer readings, and other minute scales.
  • Effective communication by voice and the ability to detect sounds are required.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors and assess three-dimensional depth.
  • May need to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklifts, APU, etc.
