WORKING HOURS:

This position is hourly, requiring the incumbent to fulfill the necessary hours to accommodate a 24-hour operation.


SUMMARY:

The role involves assisting in the daily preparation and cooking of all food items related to the designated kitchen outlet.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Adheres to safe food handling practices consistently.
  2. Ensures all food served is prepared according to established quality standards.
  3. Prepares and cooks meals for the respective kitchen outlets, following proper procedures.
  4. Assists in executing hot and cold line functions as required.
  5. Completes all kitchen preparation tasks promptly and adheres to established recipes.
  6. Operates at a safe and efficient pace in a dynamic environment.
  7. Stores, labels, dates, and rotates all food items (FIFO).
  8. Maintains cleanliness and organization of workstation and surrounding areas.
  9. Utilizes kitchen equipment as instructed to ensure safety and proper maintenance.
  10. Embraces the Team R.O.C.K. Philosophy.
  11. Acts as a role model, representing River Rock Casino positively and encouraging others to do the same.
  12. Meets attendance expectations and complies with regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
  13. Participates in all required meetings and training sessions.
  14. Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  15. Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To succeed in this role, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed:

  1. Prior kitchen experience is essential.
  2. A minimum of two (2) years of cooking experience in a medium to high-volume restaurant is required.
  3. Basic knife skills and proficiency in operating standard kitchen equipment are necessary.
  4. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  5. Ability to collaborate effectively with co-workers and function as part of a team.
  6. Commitment to the Team R.O.C.K. Philosophy.
  7. Must maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards at all times.
  8. Ability to uphold a high level of confidentiality regarding all aspects of the gaming enterprise.
  9. Competence in working across multiple stations in at least one outlet.

EDUCATION:

  1. A High School Diploma or equivalent GED is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  1. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English; bilingual skills are preferred.
  2. Excellent oral and written communication skills are vital for this position.
  3. Must be able to engage with the public in a professional manner.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  1. Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations in all units of measure.

REASONING ABILITY:

  1. Ability to proactively enhance processes for the company's return on investment.
  2. Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  3. Ability to interpret a wide range of instructions in various formats.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Must be able to stand for extended periods and work efficiently in environments with extreme temperatures.
  2. Coordination and dexterity to use kitchen utensils such as knives and spatulas are required.
  3. Ability to operate kitchen equipment, including stoves, grills, and fryers, when preparing food orders.
  4. Must be able to lift at least fifty (50) pounds.
  5. Ability to carry, pull, and push the weight necessary to perform job duties.
  6. Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
  7. Must be able to respond to visual and auditory signals.
