Job Overview

Position Summary

The role of Assembler Electronic Post 4 represents the senior level in the electronic assembly domain, focusing on intricate rework tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • The operator will engage in assembling mechanical components onto printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies, de-paneling PCBs, preparing hardware and electronic parts, and cleaning boards using designated aqueous solutions.
  • Occasionally, the role involves collaboration with engineering teams to facilitate the assembly of prototype units.
  • Assists in rework initiatives across various departments as required.
  • Ensures accuracy in all assembly and work order documentation, inventory management, and tooling through the ERP system and assembly aids.
  • Interprets assembly guidelines, Bills of Materials, and Engineering Change Orders while maintaining proper housekeeping and disposal of cleaning materials and chemicals.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the electronic manufacturing sector, particularly in rework capabilities.
  • Proficiency in hand soldering and reworking various surface mount technology (SMT) and through-hole components.
  • Strong attention to detail in identifying and rectifying solder and component defects.
  • Experience with a range of rework tools, including hot air rework stations, solder pots, and soldering irons.
  • Ability to read and comprehend assembly instructions and work documents, along with basic computer skills.
  • Familiarity with small hand tools, magnifying lamps, microscopes, rulers, and calipers.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and adapt swiftly to a fast-paced team environment.
  • Experience in interpreting Engineering Change Orders and assembly schematics.
  • Knowledge of IPC-610 class II & III / J-STD-001 standards, as well as IPC-7711/IPC-7721 guidelines for rework and repair of electronic assemblies.
  • Willingness to engage in cross-training for other operational areas as necessary.

Work Schedule

This position operates on the 2nd shift, typically commencing between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

Language Proficiency

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, procedures, and manufacturing processes. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for interaction with peers and management.

Mathematical Competence

Basic math skills are required, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, along with knowledge of standard and metric measurements.

Problem-Solving Skills

Must possess the ability to address practical problems and interpret various instructions presented in written, oral, or schedule formats.

Physical Requirements

This role necessitates standing for extended periods and the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs. Specific vision capabilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
