Wax Assembly Operator

Chandler, Arizona, United States Triax Industries LLC Full time
Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Wax Assembly Operator to join our team at Triax Industries LLC. The successful candidate will work on the 2nd shift, which offers a $1.50 an hour differential added to the base pay.

The Wax Assembly Operator will be responsible for inspecting and repairing defects in wax patterns that have been injected. This will involve using hot irons, water welding torches, and hot melted seal/patch wax to repair any defects and attach wax patterns onto a sprue (also injected). Additionally, the candidate will use hot melted glue, known as Stik-Tite, and other wax injected components to complete a build/assembly of a mold that will go through the casting process and later become an investment casting.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Inspect and Repair Wax Patterns: The Wax Assembly Operator will inspect injected wax patterns for defects and repair them using hot, melted patch wax, mineral spirits, and a Scotch-Brite pad.
  2. Assemble Wax Patterns: The candidate will use dental style tools, small hobby paint brushes, hot irons, and water welder torches with an open flame to assemble wax patterns to an injected sprue to create a mold. Assembly instructions will be found on the Technical Card.
  3. Delicate Handling of Wax Patterns: The Wax Assembly Operator will require the delicate use of hands when working with fragile wax patterns and assemblies. Seals and wax welding of joints must be done cleanly without drips, holes, gouges, or other damage to parts/assembly.
  4. Complete Required Paperwork: The candidate will complete required paperwork without error and job/inventory WIP'ing transaction via WIP Track, moving jobs/completed work to the next manufacturing operation.
  5. Form and Shape Wax: The Wax Assembly Operator will use extruded and pasted wax to form, shape, and create different shapes for the sprue or gating per engineering instruction. In some cases, the engineer may deviate from the Technical Card temporarily.
Requirements
  1. Language Skills: The candidate must be able to speak and read English.
  2. Physical Abilities: The Wax Assembly Operator must be able to work with hands, lift 40 lbs unassisted, and work with hot irons, open flame torches, and hot melted wax & glue on hot plates.
  3. Teamwork: The candidate must be able to work in a team-work environment.
  4. Attention to Detail: The Wax Assembly Operator must have strong attention to detail.
