Job Summary:

NYU Langone Health is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at NYU Imaging - East Meadow. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images and performing procedures according to established standards and practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate MRI equipment to take diagnostic images of specific body areas/parts as ordered.
  • Prepare and position patients properly and provide clear and concise instructions regarding the procedure before beginning an exam.
  • Ensure quality review of the images fall within the guidelines of departmental SOP (Standard Operating Protocol).
  • Practice safety protocols with regard to patient and employee safety when in range of magnetic field.
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Enter proper exam coding in the Radiology Information System and arrive and complete exams in a timely fashion.
Requirements:
  • Technical Diploma Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services.
  • New York State Radiologic Technologist License or New York State Radiologic Technologist Temp Permit.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Advanced Certification in MRI required within 180 days of Hire or transfer.
  • Strong communication (both written and oral), problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Radiology Program or related Health field.
  • Years of MRI technologist or training experience.
