Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team at NYU Langone Ambulatory Care East Meadow. As an Athletic Trainer, you will play a critical role in the prevention, assessment, and treatment of athletic injuries and illnesses. You will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care to our patients and athletes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial on-field assessments of acute injuries and illnesses, providing first aid and triage as necessary.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention and treatment programs for athletes, including concussion management and return-to-play protocols.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, coaches, and parents to ensure the health and wellness of student athletes.
  • Provide education and guidance on injury prevention, health, and wellness to athletes, parents, and coaching staff.
  • Assist with the implementation and yearly re-evaluation of school athletic policies, including EAPs and concussion management.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of athlete injuries and illnesses, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training from an accredited program.
  • Current and valid NYS Department of Education Athletic Training License.
  • Certification through the Athletic Training Board of Certification (BOC).
  • CPR and AED Certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with athletes, parents, and coaching staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Athletic Training, Health Science, or related field.
  • Concussion Management Certification.
  • 1-2 years of experience in interscholastic or intercollegiate sports programs.
