About the Role

The TK Instructional Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher in providing a high-quality, personalized education program for students. This position is ideal for recent college graduates who are interested in pursuing a career in education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Support: Assist the classroom teacher in developing and implementing lesson plans, managing student behavior, and ensuring all students are fully engaged in learning.
  • Instructional Support: Collaborate with the classroom teacher to assess students regularly, analyze assessment data, and develop strategies to improve student outcomes.
  • Communication: Help the classroom teacher provide regular and timely information to students and their families on classroom activities and student progress.
  • Student Support: Identify unique student needs and collaborate with other team members to diagnose and address learning challenges.
  • Program Support: Assist with planning and executing differentiated instruction for students with varying needs, including parallel teaching, small group, and one-on-one instruction.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's degree or successful completion of 48 units of college credit or passing of Paraprofessional Test.
  • Experience: 1+ year working with students as a teacher, teacher intern, or teaching assistant preferred.
  • Skills: Knowledge of child cognitive development and different learning styles, ability to implement Aspire Instructional Guidelines and Best Practices, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
