Job Summary

The Technology Educator will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction within a small school environment where every student is known and valued as an individual. This role upholds the mission and values of Aspire Public Schools and contributes to our goal that every student in California has access to a high-quality public education.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Establish a Culture of High Expectations: Develop and maintain a culture that includes the shared belief that every student will attend college.
  • Develop and Implement Lesson Plans: Create and implement lesson plans and classroom activities aligned with California State Standards and Aspire Instructional Guidelines.
  • Assess Student Progress: Assess students regularly and analyze student results; refine and differentiate classroom instruction based on assessment data and student needs.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practices throughout the school; share best practices.
  • Communicate with Students and Families: Communicate regularly with students and their families about classroom activities and student progress.
  • Manage Student Behavior: Manage student behavior to ensure every student is fully engaged.
  • Participate in Professional Development: Actively participate in professional development activities, and work closely with lead teachers, principal, and instructional coaches.
  • Maintain Student Records: Maintain accurate student records including attendance.
  • Identify Student Needs: Identify unique student needs and collaborate with team members to effectively address those needs.
  • Support Aspire's Mission: Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Aspire Public Schools' mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of child cognitive development and various learning styles, subject matter, including California State Standards and subject-specific frameworks, assessments, and computer coding and robotics curriculum.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree.
  • Licensing Requirements: Single subject: Mathematics (full, not foundational) OR Business OR Industrial and Technology Education OR Any credential with an additional authorization in Computer Science, including English learner authorization, required.
  • Experience: 1+ year working with students as a teacher, teacher intern, or teaching assistant preferred.
