Job Summary

The Technology Educator will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction within a small school environment where every student is known and valued as an individual. This role upholds the mission and values of Aspire Public Schools and contributes to our goal of providing every student in California with access to a high-quality public education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a Culture of High Expectations
    • Develop and implement lesson plans and classroom activities aligned with California State Standards and Aspire Instructional Guidelines
    • Assess students regularly and analyze student results; refine and differentiate classroom instruction based on assessment data and student needs
  • Collaborate with Colleagues
    • Work closely with colleagues to improve instructional practices throughout the school; share best practices
    • Communicate regularly with students and their families about classroom activities and student progress
  • Manage Student Behavior
    • Ensure every student is fully engaged in the learning process
  • Professional Development
    • Actively participate in professional development activities
Qualifications
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Knowledge of child cognitive development and various learning styles
    • Knowledge of subject matter, including California State Standards and subject-specific frameworks
    • Knowledge of assessments
    • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative student data
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree
    • 1+ year working with students as a teacher, teacher intern, or teaching assistant preferred
  • Licensing Requirements
    • Single subject: Mathematics (full, not foundational) OR Business OR Industrial and Technology Education OR Any credential with an additional authorization in Computer Science, including English learner authorization, required
