About the Role

Decypher is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join our team as a Behavioral Health Specialist. As a key member of our professional team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional mental health services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Function as a Behavioral Health Care Provider within an operational unit, providing high-quality mental health services to individuals, families, and groups.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, professional staff conferences, and other relevant activities to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
  • Apply social work procedures and techniques, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, and evidence-based therapies, to evaluate, diagnose, and treat psychological and neuropsychological disorders.
  • Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, and school districts as required, to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Conduct applied research and clinical investigations in clinical/behavioral health/organizational social work, to inform and improve practice.
  • Participate in military-specific training and activities, such as security clearances, use of DoD or service-specific clinical practice guidelines, pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress, as directed by the unit Commander or designee.
  • Assess barriers to treatment adherence and help patients problem-solve solutions to barriers, to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Provide patients with education regarding their mental health condition and treatment regimen, to promote understanding and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate and current notes in electronic medical records, for review by managing physicians and other stakeholders.
  • Staff difficult cases with referring providers, behavioral health consultants, and/or psychiatry consultants, to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Perform case management functions, to coordinate care and services for patients.
  • Document care in Military Electronic Health Record (AHLTA, GENESIS, etc.) and/or HP Enterprise-wide database (SMARTABASE), as directed by HP program Manager and/or Coordinator and required by AFSPECWAR and staff.
Requirements
  • Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) or equivalent degree from a graduate school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • Specialized training and education that prepare them for their duties, including a minimum of 2 years within the past 5 years in the independent practice of clinical social work in a mental health setting.
  • Experience working in a government setting, such as DOD or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) MTF, is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of professional standards and ethics regarding the delivery of clinical social work services.
  • 2 years experience in behavioral interventions.
