About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join our team as a Behavioral Health Consultant. As a key member of our Behavioral Health Optimization Program, you will play a critical role in supporting the mental health and well-being of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based assessment and intervention services to clients with a range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, substance misuse, and stress.
  • Work collaboratively with primary care providers to deliver brief, focused interventions and provide education on behavioral health issues.
  • Develop and implement population health approaches to healthcare, including motivational interviewing and stepped-care services.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical pathways and programs.
  • Provide training and education to primary care team members on behavioral health issues and how to provide stepped-care services.
  • Document patient care and recommendations in the electronic medical record.
  • Manage a full daily patient load and maintain scheduled templates consistent with DHA policy.
  • Supervise providers in training or not fully licensed, as needed.
  • Participate in approved research and quality improvement projects.
  • Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, and military commanders as required.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and required trainings during normal duty hours and professional staff conferences.
Requirements
  • Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a graduate school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • Minimum of one year experience as a licensed clinical social worker or independently licensed clinical social worker or licensed professional counselor.
  • One year experience in the last three years in the evaluation and treatment of patients who have pain, psychological factors affecting their physical condition, or difficulty managing acute or chronic medical problems.
  • Prior training or experience as a behavioral health provider integrated into PCMH setting is preferred.
  • At least 12 months of direct hands-on experience in the last 24 months with computer operations, basic word processing, data entry, and use of an automated medical record system.
  • Optimal candidate would have a solid understanding of, and experience using, population health approaches to healthcare and proficiency in using motivational interviewing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Board certification in a relevant field.
  • Licensure to practice psychology or license to independently practice clinical social work or licensed professional counselor in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
