The Corporate Risk Management Officer for Citigroup Inc. is a key strategic professional who remains informed about advancements within their domain and contributes to the overarching strategy by evaluating their relevance to their role and the organization. This position is recognized as a technical authority within the business, requiring a fundamental understanding of commercial dynamics. Typically, multiple individuals within the organization possess similar levels of expertise. Strong communication and diplomatic skills are essential to guide, influence, and persuade others, particularly colleagues from different departments and occasional external clients. The role has a significant impact on the area through complex deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Oversee and support various risk and control initiatives for the organization, including defining the strategy, methodologies, processes, quality standards, tools, and reporting mechanisms that ensure global risk management consistency and excellence.

+ Implement a quarterly audit process to verify attributes for accurate calculation and control.

+ Collaborate closely with business partners to address findings and recommend enhancements to practices.

+ Develop and implement procedural changes in collaboration with Operations and Reporting teams to ensure robust governance and controls.

+ Review procedures for consistency and identify gaps concerning regulations, as well as their impact on customer experience.

+ Conduct internal assessments of dispute processes to ensure effective control measures.

+ Monitor exceptions to dispute policies and analyze the underlying causes.

+ Utilize data to assess impacts on Customer Experience and compliance issues.

+ Operate with a degree of autonomy and limited direct supervision.

+ Exercise independent judgment and decision-making capabilities.

+ Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to senior stakeholders and team members.

+ Assess risks associated with business decisions, giving particular attention to the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies, while applying sound ethical judgment in all business practices.

Qualifications:

+ 6-10 years of relevant experience in Business Risk & Controls.

+ Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access, SAS, SQL, and Visual Basic is advantageous. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial services sector is preferred.

+ Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally.

+ Strong organizational and influencing skills are essential.

+ Experience in third-party vendor management is preferred, with demonstrated ability to lead global team initiatives.

+ Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to see the bigger picture.

+ Proven track record in developing and implementing strategic and process improvement initiatives.

Education:

+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required; a Master’s degree is a plus.
