Job Summary

As a Business Office Associate at Lexington Medical Center, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office. Your primary responsibility will be to assist patients, visitors, providers, and office staff in a courteous and friendly manner, while maintaining a positive patient flow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service to all patients and office staff.
  • Perform administrative tasks efficiently and timely, including scheduling appointments, referrals, and ancillaries.
  • Manage medical records, including documentation, forms, and electronic chart maintenance.
  • Process payments, collect deposits, and maintain cash drawers.
  • Screen and collect unpaid balances, and provide financial counseling when needed.
  • Operate and maintain office equipment, including fax machines, copiers, and other general office equipment.
  • Perform in-service and education duties, including department orientation and annual training.
  • Assist with coding, including E&M/basic visits, office procedures/complex visits, surgeries, and hospital services.
  • Provide support and guidance for clerical policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 1 Year of Experience in a Related Field that Involves Administrative Support and Customer Service Activities.
  • Substitutable Education & Experience (Optional): Experience can be substituted for successful completion of a Medical Office Administrative Assistant certificate program.
