Position Summary
The Liability Specialist will exercise independent judgment in managing claims related to intricate liability matters, including coverage disputes and severe injury claims. This role is remote, serving the Silver Spring Branch territory.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct thorough investigations and provide evaluations regarding coverage and liability.
  • Manage claims that involve complex liability, damages, or coverage issues.
  • Negotiate effectively with all involved parties within designated authority.
  • Document all findings and submit comprehensive reports.
  • Identify subrogation opportunities and initiate necessary actions.
  • Support property claims during peak periods.
  • Engage in training and mentorship activities.
  • Travel for training purposes may be required.

Qualifications
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED; an associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred. A minimum of five years of experience in casualty claims adjusting or equivalent experience in the medical or legal fields is required. Candidates should have a broad understanding of liability coverages, laws, and injuries. Completion of the Associate in Claims (AIC) program is preferred. A valid driver's license is necessary.

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift/move 0-20 lbs frequently, and occasionally lift/move 20-50 lbs. Must be able to use lifting aids for heavier items and perform occasional climbing and driving tasks.
