Position Overview

With minimal supervision, this role involves performing support activities related to claims and zones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct administrative and support functions, including managing phone communications, filing, copying/imaging, faxing, processing and distributing mail, and supporting vendor relationships and processes.
  • Order supplies and coordinate meetings, while greeting and directing visitors to the appropriate personnel.
  • Provide assistance across various disciplines, including material damage, property, liability, subrogation, workers' compensation, medical, and litigation.
  • Assist in preparing and processing documentation, managing time-sensitive and confidential claim file information regularly.
  • Handle follow-up calls and provide additional claim file support as necessary.
  • Respond to inquiries from customers, including adjusters, policyholders, agents, independent adjusters, and claimants, ensuring customer service remains a priority.
  • Enter new loss report information and update claim documentation as required.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Screen and direct visitors to the appropriate personnel.
  • Mentor and train less experienced staff as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Education Equivalents:

  • Associate's degree in business or a related field; or
  • High School Diploma or GED with two years of customer service experience in a professional setting, administrative, claims support, or office experience.

Preferred qualifications include the ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute and achieve 90 net data entry keystrokes per minute. Completion of LOMA Select tests is required, along with a passing score. Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software is necessary. Experience in the insurance industry is preferred, along with completion or active pursuit of insurance education, such as the Program in General Insurance (INS 21, 22, 23) or introductory courses. A valid driver's license is also preferred.
