About the Role

Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our Legal & Public Affairs Department, you will play a critical role in managing litigation and regulatory matters across our global operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a range of litigation and regulatory proceedings, including review of pleadings and motions, response to written discovery, and preparation of witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Direct case dockets, including personal injury and commercial issues, and advise the business on potential disputes and litigation aspects.
  • Respond to subpoenas and other information requests from third parties, and negotiate and resolve pre-litigation claims against the company.
  • Work cross-functionally with commercial, compliance, and intellectual property attorneys to mitigate litigation risk and ensure compliance with litigation and regulatory obligations.
  • Provide risk management and general advice to the legal department, business partners, and customers.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctorate and licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
  • 5+ years of relevant post-bar professional experience, with demonstrated litigation experience across various substantive legal areas.
  • Excellent cross-functional and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong communication and drafting skills, with the ability to influence and analyze complex information.
  • Computer and software systems proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
