Job Summary:

The Technical Order Specialist is responsible for maintaining technical orders in accordance with AF TO policy. The incumbent works a non-traditional schedule, Monday through Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 midnight.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serves as the Technical Order Distribution Accounts (TODA) focal point.
  • Performs routine checks as required for assigned technical data in accordance with AF Policies.
  • Responsible for safe handling of classified information.
  • Conducts training as needed for end users within the organizational unit on access to electronic Technical Orders (eTOs).
  • Completes routine self-inspections on assigned technical data inventory.
  • Completes validations of TOs – hyperlink, number, functionality, and reports issues.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to successfully complete the TODA/Library Custodian General Course within 180 days of initial assignment.
  • Completes and maintains all required training outlined by the organization.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance or have an active security clearance.
  • Experience with Technical Orders paper and eTO/eTool distribution and management associated with Air Force maintenance.
  • Working experience with DoD in a Military, civilian, or contract position supporting DoD programs.
  • Working knowledge of military industry and standards for product delivery.
  • Must be skilled in the practice of U.S. Air Force and DoD contracting tools, documents, forms, and information systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of TO policies AFPD 20-1/63-1, AFI 63-101/20-101, TO 00-5-1, TO 00-5-3, and TO and all TO's and instructions in their entirety.
Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.

The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time, review information on a computer screen, and be able to withstand repetitive motion (up to 10 hours a day with lunch and breaks).

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Must have manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard and standard office equipment and ability to work in excess of a 40-hour week if necessary.

Working Environment & Conditions:

This position is located at Tinker AFB.

Travel will not be required.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position, and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate.
