Job Summary:The Medical Assistant will work closely with clinicians and nurses to provide medical care to patients in a patient-centered medical home. This includes preparing patients for visits, performing tasks related to the visit, and assisting with administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:- Anticipate patient needs and prepare patients for visits in an efficient manner.
- Perform tasks related to the visit, including documentation, vital signs, and lab testing.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as completing patient forms and scheduling appointments.
- Provide excellent customer service and culturally competent care.
- Participate in team and departmental meetings, and ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
- High School Diploma or GED and successful completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited school.
- Basic Life Support Certification.
- Oral and written proficiency in English, bi-lingual fluency in Spanish preferred.
The Medical Assistant will work in a clinical setting and will be exposed to hazardous waste and blood-borne pathogens. The position requires the ability to walk, bend, sit, stand, and use a keyboard and telephone.
