Job Summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a highly skilled Medical Supply Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) department, you will be responsible for ensuring the adequate supply of medical equipment and supplies in our warehouse and ensuring that in-service units have the necessary supplies to provide uninterrupted service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport emergency and support vehicles to and from repair facilities.
  • Perform intake of supplies, including verifying the correct product, quantity, and recording lot numbers and expiration dates of equipment, medications, and specialty items.
  • Collect, fill, and deliver station orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Use inventory control software to ensure accountability for all supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure the fleet of reserve ambulances is properly stocked, fueled, and ready for immediate deployment as an in-service MICU.
  • Perform audits on supplies to ensure compliance with the State of Texas DSHS EMS Medical Equipment List.
  • Properly witness, log, and label all narcotics, following DEA and departmental tracking standards.
  • Make minor repairs to medical and computer equipment.
  • Maintain accountability of all County-assigned capital equipment.
  • Participate in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • EMT or equivalent knowledge.
  • 2 years of job-related experience.
  • Experience using and repairing medical equipment and supplies preferred.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively with the public and other employees.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of ordering and maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations/procedures.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and maintain certification.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
